Fiji Into LA Sevens Cup final

The Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team has secured a berth in the Cup final of the Los Angeles Sevens after this morning’s 29-10 win over Australia in the semifinal.

The Ben Gollings coached-side started strongly as they took a 12-0 lead with tries to captain Waisea Nacuqu and veteran halfback Jerry Tuwai.

Tuwai's try was converted.

The Aussies came back with two unconverted tries as they trailed 12-10 at halftime.

It was all Fiji in the second half with tries to winger Filipe Sauturaga, lanky forward Joseva Talacolo and Kaminieli Rasaku while Nacuqu landed two conversions.

The Australians need to win the third/fourth playoffs to win the Series for the first time.
