Ring issue won’t be an issue of the April 13 promotion, says South Pacific Boxing promoter Freddy Chand.

Speaking to SUNsports on Monday, Chand said they have paid to use a certified ring from Kiran Boxing promoter Ben Krishna.

“The ring is a certified one and we’re making sure that every corner is covered so there won’t be a repeat of the last incident,” he said.

Chand highlighted that they have been working closely with the Boxing Commission of Fiji to ensure that fans get their monies worth during the programme to be staged at Tilak High School hall.

He also confirmed that they have signed up Navosa heavyweight Alipate Nagata last week to fight Fijian heavyweight champion Petero Qica Jnr.

This was after Jonasa Kavika took up a fight in Melbourne, Australia where he was knocked out in the second round.

“It was fortunate that Nagata had been training with his rugby team and has took up the opportunity to redeem his boxing career.
