Despite of the outcome of this Saturday’s Roya Tea Ranadi Cup clash against Island Pharmacy Ba, the Kadavu women’s team has booked a quarter-final spot.

This followed their consistent performance in the Royal Tea Ranadi competition this season.

The newcomers have won five of their six matches.

Last week, they thrashed Malolo, 48-20 and is eyeing another win on Saturday when they host Ba at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

The Kadavu side is based at Sila Village in Cuvu, Nadroga.

Team manageress Pauilina Ratuwara said yesterday that preparations have been on track.

“We have now set our focus on the Royal Tea Ranadi Cup quarterfinal,” she said.

“Being based in Sila, there have been many challenges. One is our daily travelling to Lawaqa Park for training but despite all of that preparations have been great.

“We have put strict measures to our players, stopping them from going out on weekends after every game so they can focus on their next assignment,” Ratuwara added.

Kadavu leads the Western pool ahead of Ba, Malolo and Serua.

“We have met once and we won, they will definitely want to take revenge by winning this time.

“We have set our goal to finish at the top this season.”

The Kadavu side has recruited four more new players during their last trip to Kadavu.
