The Nadi Rugby Union will hold its 2025 Awards Night on November 29 at the Sofitel Fiji Resort conference room, celebrating the outstanding achievements of their three teams this season.

NRU vice-president Jeff Tamata said yesterday the event aims to acknowledge players’ efforts — with the women’s team reaching the quarterfinals, the senior men’s team making the semifinals, and the Under-20 side winning the Skipper Cup.

“The awards night is about celebrating our players’ hard work and preparing for 2026,” said Tamata.

“Funds raised from the event, including an auction, will go towards off-season preparations and development plans for next year.”

The celebration will also feature the paramount chiefs, stakeholders, sponsors, and entertainment from ‘The Creams’. Tamata praised the interim executive committee for steering the NRU through a challenging season.

“Despite the late start, our teams performed exceptionally well. This year was about putting our house in order and restoring confidence in Nadi Rugby,” he said.

He also confirmed the opening of a new Nadi Rugby office, the first in nearly two decades — marking a step forward in strengthening administration and player welfare.

“We’re proud of what we achieved in a short time. The awards night is the climax of our season and a tribute to everyone’s sacrifice and commitment,” Tamata added.
