Damodar predicts record box office day as Spider-Man opens

Damodar Cinemas is expecting one of its biggest box office days ever as Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened to overwhelming demand, with nearly all sessions selling out across its cinemas.
Damodar Group of Companies and Damodar Cinemas chief executive officer said the film's release marked a historic occasion not only for the company but for cinemas worldwide, predicting the opening day could set a new attendance record.
"Today is quite a busy and historical day for us," he said.
"I think today we could crack a record. All our cinemas have almost been sold out."
He attributed the excitement to months of anticipation surrounding the latest Marvel blockbuster, saying audiences are in for major surprises that connect directly to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday storyline.
"There are some things in this film which are so special," he said.
"Please, no spoilers, because it really relates to Avengers: Doomsday and the entire Marvel comic universe."
To celebrate the release, Damodar Cinemas has introduced themed food and beverage combos, ticket promotions and cash giveaways, all promoted through its social media platforms.
He said Spider-Man appealed to audiences of all ages, bringing together longtime Marvel fans and younger moviegoers.
"This film is integrated across every age and every generation.
"This generation is very lucky because they've got much more fantastic technology to bring this film together."
He also encouraged audiences to watch the film in the Damodar VX cinema format for an enhanced viewing experience.
Ending with a message to fans, he urged moviegoers not to reveal key plot details online.
"You won't be disappointed," he said.
"Please, no spoilers. Everyone has their own attachment to a character. Mine is Punisher. Everyone's going to enjoy it."
