Young people and aspiring artists in Suva are being encouraged to take part in holiday art classes aimed at teaching traditional handicrafts and pottery skills this month.

The programme, running from May 4 to May 16, is designed to provide participants with hands-on creative training while promoting Fiji’s cultural heritage.

Classes will be held in two sessions from May 4 to 9 and May 11 to 16.

Organisers say the initiative is open to beginners and those interested in learning more about traditional arts and crafts.

The training programme is supported by the Fiji Craft Society, Fiji Arts Council and Suva City Council.

Organisers say spaces are limited and are encouraging interested participants to register early.
