Development stakeholders of 11th European Development Fund converge for 3rd Regional Meeting for the Pacific

The third meeting of the Regional Steering Committee for the Pacific (RSCP) for the 11thEuropean Development Fund (EDF) Pacific Regional Indicative Programme (PRIP) will take place today and Friday The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat will host it in collaboration with the European Union (EU).
This consultative platform aims to ensure effective and result-oriented implementation of the EU-Pacific regional programme.
Under this programme, the EU supports the Pacific at a regional level for a total of EUR 166 million (FJ$ 350 million) in areas such as ocean governance and protection, waste management, public finance management, addressing root causes of gender inequality and violence against women, trade, investment and promotion of the private sector.

The meeting will be an opportunity to reflect on the future of EU-Pacific relations too. The meeting will be co-chaired by Dame Meg Taylor, the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum and Regional Authorising Officer (RAO) and Pierre Amilhat, the Director responsible fordevelopment cooperation with Asia, Central Asia, Middle East/Gulf and the Pacific at the EU.
