Fiji Airways plans to renew its code share agreement with Air India, says Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka.
“India is an emerging market which we want to tap into that connects through Singapore,” Mr Gavoka said at the Fiji Tourism Expo 2024, which commenced yesterday at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort.
“We want to strengthen that Singapore-India sector and Singapore-Fiji leg.

“We will be renewing the code share with Air India presence in the market.”
Mr Gavoka said Fiji was in talks with Bollywood movies producers to work in Fiji this year.
“We are looking at shooting some Hindi movies here, with my colleagues in India and those at Film Fiji,” Mr Gavoka said.
“We are on track to welcome a record million visitors this year, opening up numerous opportunities ahead. Our brand message, ‘Where Happiness Comes Naturally,’ takes Fiji’s authentic beauty, culture, and experiences to the world, from cities like Sydney and Beijing to Times Square and everywhere in between.
“It’s about meaningful travel and connecting with travellers at a deeper level.”
Mr Gavoka encouraged vendors to seize the chance to share unique stories.
“Appreciation for buyers, and our buyers, our ambassadors, who have journeyed far to experience the best of Fiji’s natural happiness," he said.
