31-Year-old Rape Accused Remanded
It is alleged that between March 1 and December 25, 2016, at Nasinu, the accused raped the complainant who was a 15-year-old girl.

A 31-year-old accused of rape was remanded in custody by the Nasinu Magistrates Court.
The accused who is charged with one count of rape appeared before Magistrate Charles Ratakele on Wednesday.
It is alleged that between March 1 and December 25, 2016, at Nasinu, the accused raped the complainant who was a 15-year-old girl.

Police prosecutor Constable Satereki Mocevakaca made an application for the case to be transferred to the High Court in Suva on the ground that the offence was indictable.
The court heard that the accused and the complainant were not related, but were from the same settlement in Nasinu.
The case was adjourned to April 5 at the High Court in Suva.
