Dimity Fifer Named The New Permanent Secretary For Local Government
The chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Vishnu Mohan, announced yesterday that the commission, with the agreement of the Prime Minister, had appointed Dimity Fifer to the position.

An Australian national who was Local Government Commissioner for the city of Whitehorse in Melbourne has been named the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Local Government.
The chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Vishnu Mohan, announced yesterday that the commission, with the agreement of the Prime Minister, had appointed Dimity Fifer to the position.
Ms Fifer is an experienced CEO and board member who has worked extensively in social services, volunteering and women’s network development and Local Government.

She was a commissioner for the Council for Aboriginal reconciliation and CEO of Victorian Council of Social Service.
She led Australian Volunteers International (AVI) for more than 12 years from 2002 and, in 2015, established Pacific Women’s Network, which has more than 150,000 members of which 36,000 are based in Fiji.
