Man Charged With Bribery Fronts Court

A suspended Water Authority of Fiji assistant finance officer appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court charged with one count of bribery.
Tuimasi Cataki, who was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), appeared before Magistrate Waleen George on Monday, March 19.
It is alleged that Cataki, between September 2016 and January 2017, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, accepted an advantage of $500 from the director of Sphynx Solutions Pty Limited, on account of him performing any act in his capacity as a public servant.

The matter was adjourned for plea to April 25.
The bail for the accused was extended.
