Police, Nasinu Council strengthen partnership to boost community safety

The Fiji Police Force and Nasinu Town Council have strengthened their partnership, pledging greater collaboration and resource sharing to improve safety and security across Fiji's largest municipality.

The renewed commitment builds on an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with both organisations agreeing to enhance cooperation through better resource sharing, joint initiatives and the exchange of capabilities.

Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu and Nasinu Town Council chief executive officer and board chairman Felix Magnus attended yesterday's meeting.

Commissioner Tudravu described the partnership as an investment in the safety and security of the people, saying lasting solutions could not be achieved by agencies working alone.

He assured the council of the Fiji Police Force's continued support for initiatives that empower communities, particularly young people, and thanked its leadership for embracing a shared approach to improving community safety.

Mr Magnus said most of the council's development projects were aimed at improving the prosperity and wellbeing of Nasinu residents, with security remaining a key pillar of sustainable development.

He said this was why the council remained committed to strengthening its long-standing partnership with the Fiji Police Force to provide a safer environment for residents.

The meeting reaffirmed both organisations' commitment to working closely with public and private sector stakeholders to deliver safer and more secure communities through coordinated action.
