Ravonu receives international medals for service in Sinai

Fiji Police officer recognised at MFO Headquarters in Egypt for dedication to global peace efforts.

Sergeant (Sgt) Tumanu Ravonu of the Fiji Police Force Dog Section was awarded the General Service Medal (GSM) and the MFO (Sinai) Medal.

Sergeant (Sgt) Tumanu Ravonu of the Fiji Police Force Dog Section was recognised for his successful completion of his one-year service in Sinai.

He was awarded the General Service Medal (GSM) and the Multinational Force and Observers (Sinai) Medal.

This achievement reflected on the professionalism and commitment of the Fiji Police Force personnel serving in international peacekeeping and observer missions.

Sgt Ravonu is currently serving with the MFO in Sinai with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF).

The medal presentation ceremony took place at the South Camp, MFO Headquarters, Sharm El Sheikh.

The ceremony was officiated by the Force Commander, Major General Michael Garraway of Australia.

His service exemplified Fiji’s continued contribution to global peace and stability through joint deployments under the MFO framework.

Sgt Ravonu is expected to return to Fiji in the coming weeks following the completion of his assignment.
