The Fiji Meteorological Service has warned that Diwali celebrations today may be dampened by wet weather conditions across the country.
Cloudy periods with showers and afternoon or evening thunderstorms are expected in most parts of Fiji, with heavy falls likely to cause flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
The weather office has also issued a reminder for motorists and residents to take extra precautions during heavy downpours, especially in flood-prone zones.
The outlook remains unsettled, with cloudy periods and some showers expected over the greater Suva-Nausori-Tailevu corridor, interior Ra to Rakiraki, Naitasiri, Serua-Namosi, southern Bua, Cakaudrove, and the Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Other areas are forecast to experience fine weather apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.
