Developing young rugby talent is the main goal of the two-day Serua Rugby Kaji Festival at Rampur Primary School in Navua.
Head of School Sakiusa Turagabeci said the festival was designed to teach students the fundamentals of rugby while preparing them for higher levels of competition.
Eight schools from the Serua, Beqa and Yanuca cluster are taking part in the tournament.
"For us in Serua, it is development first and competition second," Turagabeci said.
"We want to lay a platform for these students to be good rugby players in the future.
"We lost in the semi-finals at last year's nationals and we want to go further this year."
The tournament concludes today, with outstanding players to be selected to represent the division at next month's national competition.
