McDonald’s backs club

Kaunikuila Basketball Club (KBC) will be hosting their first tournament for 2026 under the Central Basketball Association (CBA), marking an exciting
milestone for the club and the local basketball community.
This was confi rmed by club founder/ president Ben Naisau.

The tournament named the Mc- Donald’s Kaunikuila Basketball Cup, will be played from March 26- 28 at the Vodafone Hall A in Suva.
The three-day event is set to showcase top-tier local talents, featuring six women’s teams and twelve men’s teams from across Suva and Nadi.
Naisau shared his enthusiasm, stating that the tournament represents a significant step forward for the club as it continues to grow its presence in the sport.
He highlighted that the competition will not only provide a platform for athletes to demonstrate their skills but also foster unity and sportsmanship among participating teams.
“The club extends its sincere gratitude to its major sponsor, McDonald’s, for their invaluable support in making this event possible,” he said.
The club also acknowledges the generous contributions of its supporting sponsors: Asco Motors, Pacifi c Building Solutions, South Sea Cruises, Holiday Inn Suva, Hot Bread Kitchen, and Damodar Cinemas.
In addition, the club wishes to thank all parents, supporters, and players for their unwavering support and commitment.
“Their encouragement continues to drive the club forward as it builds and prepares for future opportunities,” Naisau said.
As anticipation builds, KBC looks forward to delivering three days of strong, fast-paced, and highly competitive basketball tournament.
