Accused yet to take plea in Ono-i-Lau health centre incident
Police allege that while intoxicated in Nukuni village, Kotobalavu kissed a female nurse on the neck without her consent.

A 23-year-old man accused of harassing a nurse and assaulting a doctor at a remote island health facility has yet to enter a plea, with police saying key evidence is still pending.
Senikarawa Kotobalavu appeared before Magistrate Josaia Waqaivonovono today in relation to an incident alleged to have occurred at the Ono-i-Lau Health Centre on December 30, 2025.
Police allege that while intoxicated in Nukuni village, Kotobalavu kissed a female nurse on the neck without her consent. He is also accused of trespassing into the health centre, attempting to obtain methylated spirit from the pharmacy, and assaulting a doctor during the same incident.

The prosecution informed the court that disclosures to the accused remain incomplete. A video recorded interview has yet to be finalised and transcripts are still being prepared.
As a result, the court could not proceed with the taking of a plea. The matter has been adjourned to March 23 for mention.
