The appointment of Jake White as the Flying Fijians head coach is deemed as the way forward for Fiji Rugby.
The Rugby World Cup 2007 winning coach has been tasked to take the Flying Fijians to next year's tournament in Australia with the aim of a semi-final finish.
It is tough ask when battling the likes of Argentina, Spain and Canada in Pool C, however nothing is impossible.
We've seen how the appointment of former Blues Women's head coach Willie Walker has done wonders for the Fijiana XV.
Now the onus is on the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) to review the performance of our Fiji men's rugby sevens team.
With the Los Angeles Olympic Games next year, this is the most appropriate time for a review.
The review should be on the past performance of the team, head coach and the assistant coaches especially the strength and conditioning coach.
Also the plan mapping out the team's preparations should be looked at with appropriate changes to be done.
The head coach and the assistant coaches must must have the minimum qualification requirement. Anything lesser than that should not be condoned at all.
There's not shortcut to success. Hard decisions must be made for the team to win the Olympic Games gold medal for the third time.
Let's not procrastinate but be pro-active to get things rolling.
