Some members of the former FijiFirst party have shown keen interest to join as candidates in the next 2026 General Election.

People’s Alliance party general secretary Sila Balawa has confirmed receiving expression of interest from them.

Mr Balawa said the party had received about 130 expressions of interest and in the process of choosing the next candidates.

“We received a good number of people expressing their interest and we will discuss later about the panel that will select the successful candidates to represent the party in the 2026 General Election,” Mr Balawa said.

During the Annual General Meeting last Saturday, proposals included branch members to be part of the selection panel.

Mr Balawa said this would be discussed and finalised at their headquarters.
