Lawyers for Ratu Epeli file police report over false death claims
“The message is false, incorrect and grossly misleading,” Ratu Epeli’s lawyers stated.

A police complaint has been filed against Alex Forwood, Rajendra Chaudhry and Radio Tarana for posting false news about the death of former President of Fiji, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
Ratu Epeli’s lawyers from Lawyers and Legal Consultants said the posts made by these individuals online were false, incorrect and grossly misleading.
The posts garnered public attention with series of condolences post of Ratu Epeli’s death.

“It is deeply disrespectful and has forged public alarm to the growing public, considering Ratu Epeli’s position as a retired National President and a bona fide regional cultural leader” they stated.
“We submit that an investigation is expeditiously conducted, and the authors of such a post be criminally taken to task.”
The lawyers have also sought a formal release from Police addressing this false information and allowing a fair and better assessment of the retired National President’s good health and standing.
